Hi guys! If you've read the other blogs my friends are doing, you probably know that a couple of them are doing Fantastic Facts! Or BIG words. Without even knowing it they have inspired me to do my very own one. Its called... (drumroll) Stop Hurting My Brain!

One of those days...

Finally! Friday had ended and we're not going back to school until Tuesday! Wait a minuite...
Until Tuesday? Yeah it's labour Day which means a day off from school. Now to some it might just seem like one of those days in life... But surely not for me!
I mean really? A day off from school? Who knows what you could do?
For all we know we could fly to outer space. Sadly for me that's not going to happen...
But as awesome as that would be a day off school is like a wish come true!
No running laps or tests piling up in front of my very eyes. Plus, I've got 24 more hours to practice my speech. I must admit though school is a fun place to be... Especially when you've got a teacher the exact opposite of dull and boring!

STOP! DROP! & ROLL !

Get down! Get low! Get out!
These six words were the most commonly used words on Thursday 21st of October.
Why? Well Rm 17 had been learning about fires and how dangerous they can be.
We had been writing, discussing, and even sharing plays with each other about what not to do in a fire. When Thursday came real firemen were coming to visit us. Ofcourse that day came and the firemen showed us a video which showed a curtain catching on fire within only a matter of seconds. We were also shown some equiptments we were NOT
to play with. All the senior kids had just been sitting there waiting to play on the fire truck.
Later on we were all staring wide-eyed as the fireman pressed all these buttons. The greatest math man probably couldn't count how much there was. They let all of us kids have a go and for a ending they got up on top of the fire truck, sprayed the hose in the carpark, finally leaving adults with shiny bright cars.

Animals + Make up = Cruelty

If you've read my first blog about make up, then you probably have an idea about this one.
Here, I'm going to write about how make up can affect animals.
Before that black eyeliner or that glossy lipstick comes out in the store for all the woman to buy, it gets tested on animals. Some of those poor animals are left blinded while others are left with wounds that will never heal. Luckily as soon as the SPCA heard about this they Immediately made a move which allowed most of the public to check if the make up caused any harming to animals. Because there are forms of chemicals in
the human make up, when it is applied to animals it CAN be harmful. Especially if it has an allergic reaction to it.
Want to know more? Well, I think someone needs to do more researching.
So guys, hope you start thinking about those animals as they to, are speacial to us much more than looking beautiful.

Young & Useless...No!

"You shower first!"
"But I don't feel like it..."
"Go. You have too. "
This is my life being the youngest.  Don't get me wrong, im a clean person and I shower everyday.
But sometimes I wish everything could be my way.
Like I'm the teacher of the class, the president of the country, how about being older than all your siblings?
I want all of these things, but in the end I know it's never going to happen.
What a fantastic time it would be if Rumplestiltskin from Shrek came knocking on my door, offering me a contract.  Well... I'm not certain.  From watching the movie he is not one to trust.
What about if a Fairy Godmother appeared from nowhere just like in Cinderella.  No...
So lets finish my dream and end it in delightful way just like the fairytales, no matter how much I get annoyed with my brother I'm glad I have him.  I am?

Say "monkeys are hairy!"

Boys are rushing to get gel on their hair, girls are Fussing to get it as perfect as it can be. It's Monday and the start of a new week. As usual EVERYONE is just dying to look the best for school photos. Me? I'll stick to just tying my hair back in a pony tail. No biggie.
Sometimes I start to wonder, why does pressure build up inside of you as the photo is being taken? "Sit up straight! Tidy your shirt! You, get that smirk out of you face and smile!"
This is what some teachers do. Not mine, but in other cases it happens. How are we meant to smile and look like we're having the best time in our lifes after we've just been yelled at?
Yeah, maybe that could fit into the 7 wonders of the world.

Stage fright or confidence?

"Give me an idea!" we are all freaking out and trying to look for the best speeches.
We will present these to out class where there will be votes on the best.
The chosen 2 people from each senior class will advance to the semi finals and show it in front of the school and judges from Summerland. They will rate them and 5 lucky people will move on to THE finals. An important lady is going to listen to each and everyone of them.
There will be the 1st, 2nd and third. If the winner is a year 6, they will do a important speech at the end of the year.

The speech I'm working now is basically finished. Just a few touches here and there as well as being written on cue cards and my speech is ready. Im not sure if I'm worried or really excited. Anyway, wish me the best of luck!

Why do we Bother with Make-Up?

Going to the mall, make-up. Visiting aliens, make-up. Seeing Candyland, make-up.
Fine(sigh),I'll get to the point, it's that woman can't LIVE without make-up, it's just like water, without it they can't survive. Like my title I don't understand why woman bother with make-up.
One example is my very own mum. I can't stop Sean from complaining. "Can we please go home now? I can't take it anymore? Help me!". I can't explain every second of our sufferment. Weather its shopping for make-up, clothes or jewerly.
Make-up does help you to look beautiful and young which is every womans dream.
But they have negatives too.
Husbands and boyfriends know what I'm talking about.
Not only do woman make us suffer by dragging us along. Yes it makes you look wonderful. But face it, while that's happening the skin on your face is being affected too.
Well for the woman who also care about their weight Listen to this:
Woman who use make-up on a daily basis are actually flooding Thier body with 5lb Of chemicals a year. What are you thinking now?

A Decoration or a Home?

Once again my curiosity hit me. We were on the beach enjoying the nice breeze so we decided we would just go further along since it was low tide anyway. There were plenty of rock pools there because when the tide came up it would leave water in gaps from
The rocks. Sean(brother)and I would search in them because we would always find starfish, hermit crabs and other little sea creatures. But today I wasn't interested in those creatures,
I was looking at a shell going perfectly up like a spiral and shades of orange around it.
It was there and then when my curiosity hit me as I thought to myself, how are shells formed?
Obviously leading me to research the whole process.

When I see a shell I think of it as a beautiful decoration for my house. But for animals with slimy, fragile bodies called mollusks, it IS there home.
These creatures ingest salt and chemicals by finding land masses and eroding them. They produce outer shells as they excrete the calcium carbonate. The more that's excreted the larger and stronger the shell becomes. But everyone has to die at a point. So when the mollusks die the remains of the body will be eaten by ocean predators leaving it to wash up on the beach.
So remember every time you hold a shell, your holding a whole house.

Time flies

Dosent it? I mean, one second ago while I was who knows where, the school holidays had finally come. Only to think now that it's over. Our easy life is gone and we are back in business, well... Back to studying.
Yes I believe time flew by. That's the problem if your enjoying things.
But one thing I'm sure to enjoy is seeing my friends again. I haven't seen them in three weeks. When I think about it that way, everything is worth it. Besides, now I don't have to go grocery shopping that often. BORING!
Well that's pretty much it. Can't wait to see you guys! But... If for some weird reason the school decided we should have more days off school, I guess I could wait....

Tempting isn't it?

Have you met one of those sneaky books which makes you feel as if you NEED to pick it up.
You would just die if you didn't? Why? How? It's because the writers tell you not to pick it up, it's to DANGEROUS or you'll pee your pants! Some would say,
which obviously tempts you to pick it up even more. You can try to resist it but your mind won't be on peace until it's in your hands. I met one of those books recently and turned out pretty interesting. Here's a description on it.

First things first though The Name Of This Book Is...Secret. No really, that's the name of the book: The Name Of This Book Is Secret. Confusing? I understand.
Then we have the 2 main characters:Cass, is a survivalist. Her motto:Be prepared. She isn't a average 11 year old girl, there's lots more to her than what you assume.
Then we have Max-Ernest a boy who trys to be a comedian but never succeeds. Like Cass theres

more to him than meets the eye.

The 2 of them discover a box filled with smelly but interesting vials of which is called-The Symphony Of Smells. Leaving them with a mission including a dead magicians body and the hunt for immortality. This book is filled with puzzles, riddles and anagrams.

I would Clearly recommend this book for people who enjoys mysterys.

One Bite

"Yum!" I think to myself as I bite into a  Mcdonald Cheese Burger. 
I then wish I could eat it for the rest of my life.  But not until, I found out the truth behind those
mouth -watering Cheese Burgers.
I would like to tell you it's healthy and good for your body so we can persuade parents to buy us some more, but that clearly would be lying and everyone knows it's bad to lie. 
You should only eat at Mcdonalds for a treat as it is high in fat, low in fibre and minerals, and contains lots of salt and sugar. 
If people continue to eat like this then they have a much greater chance of getting heart disease, cancer, diabetes and other diseases. 
I've also learned that it contains chemical additives which according to the dictionary means:
something that becomes part of food or affects it as a result of packaging or processing, as debris or radiation which sometimes can give you ill-health. 

Now these are only 3 reasons about why you should only eat it rarely and for your own heath purposes. 
From reading books, asking people and searching up on the internet there is so much more (true fact).
Not only does it affect YOU but the enviroment, animals and people who live in poor places.
What! your thinking..that dosen't make any sense! Dont believe me, do some researching.

Don't get me wrongm, I mean I LOVE it too.  But you shouldn't eat it very often for your own health just keep it as a treat ( I wonder why most delicious things are unhealthy). =)
Cant believe I'm saying this but I think everyone should start eating fruits and vegetables more often. 

A Crying Wallet =(

A crying wallet? Ok,Ok,so you don't believe me that's fine.
But let me just take you back in time to October 1st. The plane had landed in Vancover (I was coming back from my trip which you can read on my previous blog posts). So we were in the airport and our next plane we were taking to Austrailia wasn't ready until ten long hours. So we thought we would just head down town. And so we did. That's where my mums mistake happened.
Yip. Walking around the shops..."let's go in there!"my brother say and so at this time in the story we are in a shop called Apple which is a brand for electronics. Not very long after we enter Apple that we see the latest iPod touch. Yeah we just had to buy it. It was like your own mini computer which can easily fit in your pocket. How awesome! Might as well ad I'm using it right now to type up this very blog post. And
that's how we got back to the airport with 2 iPod touches and a wallet crying.
But the only thing my mum said was "actually I like it when you keep up with the new technology". Who could ever ask for a better mum? Not Me!

11 & in UNI? Really?

"OH MY GOSH! ARE WE DREAMING, BECAUSE WERE GOING TO UNI !!!" This is what we felt inside, 10 & 11 year olds going to UNI now that is something BIG. The chosen people were offered a variety of sessions which improved different areas of our learning. This certain class we were attending was taught by Russel G. and it was Word Wizardry. We gained the knowledge about where the english language originated from. "Anglo Waaa?" The English language originated from the Anglo Saxon language. Did you know that the country that speaks the most english is India OMG !!! We learnt heaps from Russel as he had lots to tell us because of experience throughout his lifetime. He told us that at one stage that French was actually the most common language. We learnt so much our heads started hurting. The best part was at the end when we got to handle ancient artifacts and some of them were recreated. Thank you Russel for expanding the knowledge in our minds and which might help us in the future!!

Memorable Moments

So we said our goodbyes and a few tears were shed. Then we got our 5hour flight to Vancover where we will carry on our 15 hour flight at midnight. We went down town as we had lots of time to spare,I have to say I'm so glad we did because I got my new iPod touch which I'm using to write this blog post (please read 'A Crying Wallet' which talk about my new iPod touch). We got into a taxi and they dropped us of at our house, by the way that was pretty expensive costing over a hundred dollars.
Thinking back I wouldn't change a second of what happened. I've experienced so many things in the last couple of days. No actually last couple of weeks. And seen things I've never seen before, learned things I never knew was possible and met people I never even knew existed. Only to realise now that because of those things I was able to have an extra ordinary and unforgettable trip. Seeing my relatives again was one of the greatest gifts for me because those are the memorable moments I will always treasure in my heart.
